Besides eating them, there are some fun and interesting things to do with candy canes this time of year. Here are 2 easy recipes that you can do with Peppermint mints (starlight mints) and mini candy canes.
First you take your cookie cutters and spray them with cooking oil. Then you fill them with the mints like you see above.
Then you bake them in the oven 350 degrees for about 7 minutes. Then you take them out of the oven and have them completely cool for about 6 minutes. Once they are cool, you carefully pop them out of their cookie cutter.
You can then use a paper clip like the one above and use it to string on your tree as an ornament. I wouldn’t personally eat them – you can though try to melt it into a stick for a lollipop if you want to try.
You then can take the mini candy canes and place them on a cookie tray with parchment paper like above. Then bake them for about 6 minutes at 300 degrees. ( I watch them so they don’t over melt)
When I take them out of the oven, I can either tie a string to them to hang them on the tree or I can fill the middle with melted chocolate and make easy candies to add to my cookie platters.
