Cookie Monster is a popular character among kids and he also makes an adorable no-carve DIY Cookie Monster Pumpkin! He also happens to be my 3 year old’s absolute favorite Sesame Street character! One reason is because Dash (my son) loves to bake and cookies are his favorite thing to make and eat! Catch his baking videos on his IG @DashBakesTheGreats.

Who is Cookie Monster?
Most kids and adults know about this lovable blue monster, but for those who don’t here’s a little history! Cookie Monster is a blue anthropomorphic monster who loves to eat cookies. He often has many cookie jars hidden in his lair, and he sometimes gets into trouble with Oscar the Grouch because he eats all of his cookies. His favorite cookie is chocolate chip cookie of course. You can often find him singing ” C is for cookie that’s good enough for me.” All the while chomping on a cookie and saying, “Om, nom nom nom.”
Cookie Monster appeared on the popular kids TV series, “Sesame Street” in 1966 and was created by the show’s creator Jim Henson.
And he just happens to be my 3 year old’s absolute favorite Sesame Street character! One reason is mainly because Dash (my son) loves to bake and cookies are his favorite thing to make and eat! Catch his baking videos on his IG @DashBakesTheGreats.
How do you make a Cookie Monster Pumpkin?
I promise this is one of the easiest no-carve pumpkins you will ever make! All you need (other than a pumpkin) is blue spray paint, black paper, two styrofoam balls, black marker and glue. Cookies optional but HIGHLY recommended!

How do I make the Cookie Monster mouth?
You can google “Cookie Monster mouth clipart” like we did, save one as an image and print it out. You can resize to your pumpkin dimensions by using a free design website like Canva.
After you print that out you can cut and use as a template to trace onto black paper.
We chose to not carve our Cookie Monster pumpkin because we wanted it to last. But you can certainly trace the mouth template onto the pumpkin and carve the mouth out!

THIS DIY COOKIE MONSTER PUMPKIN IS THE CUTEST NO CARVE PUMPKIN
Materials
- Blue spray paint
- Pumpkin
- Black cardstock
- Black paint marker
- Two styrofoam balls
- Hot glue gun
Instructions
- Spray paint your pumpkin outdoors or in a well ventilated area. Lay the pumpkin on a drop cloth or newspaper first Allow to dry for several hours until paint is no longer wet to th touch.
- Draw two black circles on the two white styrofoam balls with your paint marker. Glue them on the pumpkin.
- Draw a mouth and cut out on black cardstock. Or look for "cookie monster mouth clip art" online, resize image and print out. Use that as a template on your black cardstock.
- Glue mouth to the pumpkin. Add a plate of cookies in front of the pumpkin for a great photo opp with the kids!
