Thankful Thursday | a triangle cat
This week, I am thankful: for a funny triangle cat Instagram showed me this fat cat who is almost exactly the same shape as a triangle, so I immediately sent his pics to my girls. I knew they would love him as much as I did. Howwww is he such a triangle??? His username is katsrkole, in case you’d like to follow him. 😉 for the way a smartphone makes being on hold less miserable I had to call the IRS this week, and the hold time was…impressive. Impressively long, that is. And that reminded me how grateful I am...
Astronomers discovered two black holes close to Earth unlike anything we’ve seen
[TAG0]Black holes are found throughout our universe. However, astronomers have discovered two new black holes close to Earth that have raised some eyebrows. While discovering black holes near Earth isn’t unusual, these two holes are much further from their stars than expected. This has presented some questions for astronomers because it differs from how these binary systems are usually set up. Normally, when a black hole and a star share a system, they are known as binary systems, and the black hole usually eats away at the star. That eating of the star is what makes the black holes much...

Making a bolster cushion cover is a little more difficult than sewing a regular cushion case so I decided it was worth creating a blog post with the step by...
Newly discovered ‘demon fire’ worms are the stuff of nightmares
[TAG0]Scientists have discovered a new genus of glow-in-the-dark worms they call ‘demon fire’ worms. The worms are part of a family of worms known as bristle worms, and researchers say they resemble the ancient demons of Japanese folklore, inspiring their new names. The three newfound species, named Polycirrus onibi, Polycirrus aoandon, and Polycirrus ikeguchii are found in the shallow waters of Japanese rivers and streams. The blueish and purple light the glow-in-the-dark worms give off is what originally inspired the researchers to name them after ancient Japanese demons. A paper on the new discovery is featured in the journal Royal...
