Paperclip Bookmarks Made with FastCast Resin

Make a darling bookmark with a paperclip and some regal resin shapes painted with metallic paints. This is a perfect craft for a book club, quick gift or for fun. Create the perfect paperclip bookmark with FastCast resin, metallic paint and a little twine.

These cute paperclip bookmarks are simple to make and very quick. I love using FastCast because it sets up in 15 minutes. This craft is especially perfect for a beginner using resin because the results are nearly instant.

Begin by reading the directions for the FastCast resin. The resin sets so quickly, it’s important to make sure the process is set up before starting. Mix one part of the resin with one part of the hardener. Mix for 1 minute. Then pour into a separate cup and use a new stick to stir for 30 seconds.

Pour the newly mixed resin into the silicone mold. It’s okay if it’s a little messy, it can be cleaned up. Then let the resin set for 15 minutes.

Remove the resin from the mold when the 15 minutes passes. While the resin is still a little bit soft, use some small scissors to cut the overflow resin away from the shapes. It will only be forgiving for a few minutes, so the cleaner it is poured, the better.

Then let the pieces cure until hard, about 5 more minutes.

You will need some oversize paper clips for the perfect bookmark or clip.

Next paint the resin shapes with the metallic paint. I used rose gold, antique gold, gold and copper.

Once the paint dries, use some super glue to adhere the paperclips on the backside of the resin shapes.

The superglue dries very quickly too, about 5 minutes. 

Then paint the backside of the resin to match the front.

Finally tie some twine or ribbon on the paperclip to add a little flare if desired.

This cute bookmark is ready to use or give as a gift. They’re a great way to organize papers on the desk or keep track of your favorite reading spot.
