Honey Maid responds to backlash over its pro-LGBT ad with a touching video advocating LOVE

admin

In the beginning of March Honey Maid, the 90 year old brand known for Gram Crackers and Teddy Grams, aired a commercial celebrating diverse families. The 30-second clip features a two-dad family, a biracial family, a tattooed-musician dad, a single parent, and an army-dad. The video ends with the slogan, “No matter how things change, what makes us wholesome never will. Honey Maid. Everyday wholesome snacks for every wholesome family. This is wholesome.”

Anti-gay groups and individuals responded by sending a wave of hate mail Nabisco’s way, taking particular issue with the pairing of homosexuality and the word ‘wholesome.’ Nabisco recently responded with another clip giving designers Linsey Burritt and Crystal Grover (INDO) license to transform the negative comments. After printing out the emails, the two artists rolled and arranged the paper in a way that spelled out the word ‘Love.’
